Calgary Public Library

Calgary Public Library

Our deepest appreciation to the Calgary Public Library for their encouragement and ongoing support of our programming efforts in so many different areas. They have been am excellent and steadfast partner since our very early days.

Special mention has to be made about our community salon series. Pre-COVID, three times a month, nine months out of the year, we held small gatherings of curious Calgarians at library branches in downtown (New Central Library), the Southeast (Fish Creek Library) and the Northwest (Crowfoot Library). We watched a pre-recorded TEDTalk together, and dove deep into conversation on what it means for us as engaged citizens, and the wider context of Calgary. For us, that was a fundamental building block of our helping to build community.

As we slowly emerge from COVID, we hope to resume a new series of programming opportunities with the Library. Stay tuned in 2023!

Platform Calgary

Platform Calgary

The Platform Innovation Centre, located in the heart of Calgary's East Village neighbourhood, is a hub dedicated to supporting startups and entrepreneurs at all stages of their journey.

The Innovation Centre provides a single point of access to resources, supports, programming and events to help startups successfully launch and grow their business. And, based on its location beside City Hall, the Central Library, and Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre — the Platform Innovation Centre will help create connections for local innovators, driving new economic growth and job creation in Calgary.

As a programming partner, TEDxCalgary is pleased to be getting ready to help Platform generate new ideas and tell the stories of some of the emerging innovators from the space whose ideas are worth spreading.

Hidden Story Productions

Hidden Story Productions

An event like ours lives on beyond the day through the recording of the talks and their publication to the TEDx YouTube channel. That just wouldn't be possible without the amazing team at Hidden Story Productions, who have been lovingly recording our talks for most of the last decade. Chris, Martina, and the entire team are true craftspeople when it comes to the camera, and we owe them a debt of gratitude that goes beyond words.

MySimplifyCoach

MySimplifyCoach

Having a professional coach on board as an ongoing partner is always a benefit to an all-volunteer organization like ours, especially when it's the dynamic and always-practical voice of Marcel Hertzfeldt that's involved. He is our super-hero Chief Operations Officer by night (and many times by day!), and keeps us on track with a smile and sounds words of advice.
